Dear Friends,
I am starting a blog to address issues specifically about teaching singing. This blog will include a wide range of topics that will be in no specific order. I hope that music teachers and students will be able to use the tools and suggestions that I give. Also, I would love feedback and questions to help me in developing a curriculum and book. Please pass this blog on to friends and students that may be able to benefit from it.
Why blog? Why me?
I have been teaching voice for over 12 years, and have learned so much from each student about what things work, and have -what I think is- a rather unique, but simple way of teaching voice. I also would love for more people to be able to benefit from my knowledge of vocal pedagogy.
I do not know what my first blog subject will be... but can be expected around Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

- DANIELLE HARTMAN holds a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from Butler University, has attended the University of Iowa, and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from DePauw University. Ms. Hartman is a teacher and performer in the Indianapolis area, and is active in the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, the Fellowship of American Baptist Musicians and the National Association for Teachers of Singing. She has taught private voice lessons to high school students and amateur adult singers for fifteen years, and has performed opera roles at the college and professional level with the Indianapolis Opera Chorus, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and has covered roles for the Indianapolis Opera Ensemble. Ms. Hartman has served as a church music director at Lebanon First Baptist Church in Lebanon, Indiana and as Director of Music and Cumberland Arts at Cumberland First Baptist Church. Currently, Ms. Hartman is the Minister of Music at Central Christian Church in Indianapolis, she teaches voice students at the Butler Community Arts School through Butler University, and she has been Program Chair of Cumberland Arts Goes to Market since its creation in 2009.
